RAI Secretariat has marked the International Anti-corruption DayRegional Anti-Corruption Initiative (RAI) Secretariat co-organized together with Transparency International (TI), Open Society Fund and American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative (ABA-ROLI) this year’s celebration of the International Anti-corruption Day. The event took place on December 10, 2007, in the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH and was attended by representatives from the local state institutions, civil society, private sector, academic community and the media. Mr. Edmond Dunga – Head of the office and Mr. Stanislav Aleksandrov – Anti-Corruption Expert took part in the meeting on behalf of the RAI Secretariat. Mr. Stanislav Aleksandrov delivered a power point presentation on the “Role and Importance of the Regional Anti-corruption Initiative”. more |
 Achievements of the Regional Anti-corruption Initiative (RAI) presented during the Working Table III meeting
The meeting of the three Working Tables of the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe, hosted by the Albanian government, took place on 3-4 December in Tirana International Hotel.
The meetings marked the next milestone in the transformation process of the Stability Pact into the Regional Co-operation Council (RCC). During the discussions, special attention was given to the past achievements, the lessons learnt and the challenges remaining for the RCC with regards to the Stability Pact's various initiatives and task forces.

 11th SPAI Steering Group Meeting, Podgorica October 9-10, 2007
The main decisions of this meeting approved by the Steering group, composed by Governmental representatives of the SEE countries were related to the adoption of the new name of the Initiative, election of its new Chairman Ms. Vesna Ratkovic, and appointment of the new Head of the Sarajevo based Secretariat of the Initiative, Mr. Edmond Dunga. more |
 Summer School for Junior Magistrates, Sovata, July 7- 13, 2007
This year’s Summer School for Junior Magistrates in Sovata, Romania, co-organized with the Romanian Ministry of Justice with the support of SPOC Secretariat, SEEPAG, and USAID, was envisaged to promote knowledge and regional cooperation in the field of anti-corruption, as well as experience sharing among magistrates from SPAI member countries. Summer School for Junior Magistrates was characterized as being a great success given the fact that in addition to the lectures held by seasoned trainers from various anti-corruption institutions, judges and prosecutors from SPAI countries were given the opportunity to share their experience and identify problem areas that they encounter in their everyday work environment. more |
 New 2006 Annual Report of the SPAI Regional Secretariat Liaison Office
As a continuation of a good practice, SPAI RSLO has published the new Annual Report for 2006. Preparatory meeting for SPAI Senior representatives in Sarajevo, June 21-22, 2007 was envisaged as a preparatory discussion for the 11th Steering Group Meeting that will be held in the first half of October 2007. The main purpose of the gathering was to give the opportunity to the SPAI Senior Representatives to get themselves familiar with the new developments within SPAI RSLO framework, as well as to provide substantial input and suggestions on the future work of the Initiative. more |
